You can watch Turkish TV live in the UK, legally, with Digiturk Play. It streams over your home broadband to a smart TV, Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, phone or laptop, so you need no dish and no engineer visit. TRT 1, ATV, Kanal D, Star TV, Show TV and TV8 are in the line-up, and so are the beIN Sports channels that carry every Trendyol Süper Lig match. You pay in advance for 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. Longer plans cost less per month, and none of them renew automatically.

In practice, a family in Haringey, Manchester or Birmingham sees Turkish television at the same moment Istanbul does. That means the Tuesday night series everyone talks about the next morning, the evening news, and a Saturday derby called by the commentators you grew up with. Which Turkish Channels You Can Watch in the UK

Most people start with one channel in mind. For some it is the channel showing their mother's favourite series. For others it is the football on Saturday night. The line-up covers far more than that, and it is grouped roughly like this:

• National entertainment channels: TRT 1, ATV, Kanal D, Star TV, Show TV and TV8, where nearly all of the prime-time series air
• News: channels including TRT Türk, for following events in Turkey as they happen
• Football and sport: the beIN Sports channels with every Süper Lig and 1. Lig fixture, plus sports channels such as A Spor, HT Spor and TRT Spor Yıldız
• Films and lifestyle: beIN Movies for Turkish cinema, beIN IZ for documentaries and travel, and beIN Gurme for Turkish and world cooking
• European feeds: Kanal 7 Avrupa, Euro Star and Euro Kanal D
• Children's programming: Turkish-language cartoons and shows on channels such as Minika Go

The full channel list shows the current line-up channel by channel. It is worth checking there before you subscribe, because broadcasters add and rename channels from season to season.

Children's channels matter more than many parents expect. A child growing up in London hears English at school, English on the bus and English with friends. Prices depend on your region, because broadcasting rights, tax rules and exchange rates vary between markets. When you open the packages page from the UK, you see the price list that applies to viewers in Britain. The structure behind that price list is the same everywhere:

• 3-month plan: the lowest upfront cost, useful if you want to cover the second half of a season or a few months of a series
• 6-month plan: a middle option that costs less per month than the 3-month plan
• Annual plan: the one most households choose, and usually the one with the largest campaign discount
• 2-year plan: the lowest cost per month overall, for people who already know Turkish TV will be part of their routine
• No automatic renewal: every plan ends when its period ends, so you will not find an unexpected charge on your card
• No transaction fees and instant activation: you can start watching as soon as your payment is confirmed
• 14-day free return: if the service is not right for you, you can cancel and get a full refund within two weeks

Because every plan is prepaid, the monthly figure is simply the plan price divided by its length. Take an annual plan that is discounted by around 40 percent from its list price. It costs about the same as seven months paid at the full rate, and it covers the whole football season plus the summer. Sports or Family: Choosing the Right Package for Your Household

There are two packages, and the right one depends on who in your home holds the remote on a Saturday night.

The Family Package is built around entertainment. It includes the national channels, the series, the news, the children's programming, and beIN Movies, beIN IZ and beIN Gurme. It also includes beIN Sports 90+1, which covers the build-up, the analysis and the talk around the Süper Lig. It also shows Trendyol 1. Lig matches in HD. What it leaves out is the live matches of Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş. If your household follows series more than football, this is the sensible and cheaper choice. The Sports Package comes as Sports + Family. It includes everything in the Family Package, and it adds every Trendyol Süper Lig and 1. Lig match live on beIN Sports, with Turkish commentary and full pre-match and post-match coverage. It is the package for the person who has watched their team every week since childhood and does not want to follow a derby through the score on their phone.

Many families argue over this, and it is worth settling before the season starts. The Süper Lig is at its most intense between now and May. Living With the Time Difference Between London and Istanbul

Turkey stays on UTC+3 all year. Britain changes its clocks twice a year, so the gap between the two countries also changes. On British Summer Time, the UK is two hours behind Istanbul. After the clocks go back on 25 October 2026, the gap becomes three hours until the end of March.

This matters more than it sounds. A Turkish series that starts at 20:00 in Istanbul begins at 18:00 in London until late October, and at 17:00 through the winter. That is often before anyone is home from work, and while the children are still doing homework. A Süper Lig match kicking off at 20:00 Turkish time moves in the same way, which is actually quite convenient for families with young children.

The replay tools are what make the time difference manageable. You can pause a live broadcast whenever you need to. On TRT 1, ATV, Kanal D, Star TV, Show TV and TV8 you can rewind up to 24 hours, and on the other channels up to 12 hours. So the series that aired at five in the afternoon is still there at nine in the evening, when the house is quiet and the tea is ready. Setting Up Digiturk Play on a British TV

If you have ever installed an app, you can set up Digiturk Play. It runs on Samsung and LG smart TVs made in 2017 or later, on Android TV and Google TV, on Apple TV and on Amazon Fire TV. It also runs on iPhones, iPads and Android devices, and in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on a computer without any download. The watching platforms page has setup steps for each device.

If your television is older than 2017, a Fire TV Stick is the cheapest way to bring it up to date. It plugs into an HDMI port, and the app installs in a few minutes. Your account works on all your devices, but only one of them can stream at a time. For most homes that is enough. The television carries the evening viewing, and a phone covers the match on a train or during a lunch break.

For broadband, around 10 Mbps is enough for a single stream, and 15 to 25 Mbps gives comfortable full HD even when the rest of the house is online. Most British fibre connections are well above that. Why a Dish or a Box From Turkey Is Not the Answer

Many Turkish families in Britain can remember a large dish on the side of the house, pointed south-east and adjusted after every storm. Reaching Turkish satellites from the UK needs a big dish. On top of that, planning rules and many tenancy and leasehold agreements restrict where you can put one. In a rented flat, the conversation with the landlord is often over before it starts.

Bringing a Digiturk box back from a trip to Turkey does not solve the problem either. Those boxes are licensed for use in Turkey, and our article on whether a Digiturk box works abroad explains why. The same licensing applies to Turkish streaming apps that are sold for viewers inside Turkey. They stop working when you connect from abroad, and using a VPN to get around this creates problems of its own, as our comparison of Digiturk Play and watching Turkish TV with a VPN shows.

Then there are the cheap IPTV offers shared on social media, which promise every channel for a few pounds a month. They tend to freeze exactly when a match gets interesting. They also carry real legal risk: sellers in Britain have received prison sentences, and enforcement across Europe increasingly reaches viewers as well as sellers. A legal subscription removes all of that worry. You get an invoice with your name on it and a stream that holds up during the last ten minutes of a derby. There is also customer support in Turkish and English, reachable through the customer service and contact channels.

What Stays in Turkey: Broadcasts You Cannot Watch From the UK

We would rather tell you this now than have you find out on a Tuesday night. Some broadcasts are licensed only for viewers in Turkey and the TRNC, and no package unlocks them from abroad. The main ones are the UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches shown on TRT 1, and the national team's Nations League matches shown on ATV and A Spor.

During those matches, the channels themselves stay in your line-up, but the match coverage is blocked outside Turkey. The rest of the schedule is not affected: series, news and the rest of the evening's programmes carry on as normal.

This is not a technical limit, and it is not specific to our service. Rights to European club football and international matches are sold separately in each country. The broadcaster that holds them in Turkey cannot show them in Britain.
